The DeLaMar theatre in the centre of Amsterdam has a theatre history that will capture your imagination. Big names as Wim Kan, Wim Sonneveld and Freek de Jonge performed in the earlier New DeLaMar theatre situated on the Leidseplein. The programming of the present DeLaMar with two halls and more than 1500 seats is in line with this tradition.
A visit to the DeLaMar theatre with its red plush and with its photocollection is an experience by itself. All our employees are ready to make sure you have a nice evening. Preceding the show or the play, the chef of the Grand Café and the Dinerfoyer DeLaMar will serve a delicious diner. One hour before the start of the performance the foyers are opened to enjoy a cup of coffee and also to view the exceptional photocollection.
The programming of the DeLaMar theatre consists mainly of stage performances, cabaret and musicals. To these three genres are incidentally added musictheatre, concerts and youthperformances (during school holidays). In all our performances the story and the artist are the central focus. The theatre stands out for its accessible performances, which more often are programmed exclusively and for a longer period. This way visitors from all over Holland and Belgium find their way to the DeLaMar theatre.
At night shows the cash register is open from 16:00 until the start of the performance. When there are matinee exhibits, the ticket office is opened from two hours before the start. The cash register is closed if there are no performances in the theater.
