DeLaMar theater

The DeLaMar Theater in the heart of Amsterdam has a theater history that appeals to the imagination. Big names such as Wim Kan, Wim Sonneveld and Freek de Jonge performed in the former Nieuwe de la Mar Theater on the Leidseplein. The programming of the current DeLaMar Theater with two halls and more than 1,500 seats is in line with this tradition.

A visit to the DeLaMar Theater with the red plush and the photo collection is an experience in itself. All employees are ready to give you a pleasant evening out. Prior to the performance, the chef of the Grand Café DeLaMar will serve a delicious dinner. You can also come here during matinee presentations for a nice lunch, high tea or after the performance for a drink. From an hour before the start, the foyers are opened for a cup of coffee and a visit to the special photo collection, compiled by Janine van den Ende.

The DeLaMar Theater mainly programs drama, cabaret and musical. These three genres are occasionally supplemented with music theater, concerts and youth performances. The story and the artists are central to the performances at DeLaMar Theater. The theater distinguishes itself by accessible performances, which are increasingly being programmed exclusively and for a longer period. This allows visitors from all over the country to find the DeLaMar Theater.

At night shows the cash register is open from 17:00 until the start of the performance. When there are matinee exhibits, the cash register is opened from two hours before the start. The cash register is closed if there are no performances in the theater.
