How to get to the Leidseplein

The municipality of Amsterdam is doing thorough work on and around the Leidse Square. During the work, the Leidse Square is still easily accesible. Below you will find the best way to get to the Leidse Square.

Public transport

The Leidseplein is easily accessible by public transport, especially by bus and tram. From Central Station, take tram lines 1, 2 and 5 and from the rest of Amsterdam take lines 7 and 10. By bus, the Leidseplein can also be reached easily. To do this, take bus lines 142, 145, 170, 172 or 197.

Accessibility by car

The entertainment area is car free and in the area around the Leidseplein there is little or no parking on the streets. You can park in one of the surrounding parking garages: Byzantium, Museumplein or Marnixstraat.

Another possibility is to park at a P + R and then travel by public transport. An overview of all P + R locations in and around Amsterdam can be found here.

The cabs can simply ride and run the Leidseplein and thus set yourself in the middle of the entertainment area. The drivers are well aware of the redirects. The taxi rank is currently in the middle of Leidseplein.

By bike

The Leidseplein is also easily accessible by bike. The Leidsebrug has been renovated and is now reopend for cyclists.

One of the goals of this renovation is to make the area more accessible by bicycle. New underground bicycle parking facilities and special bicycle parking facilities will be constructed.

On foot

The situation for pedestrians is currently similar to cyclists.

Be prepared
