How to get to the Leidseplein
The municipality of Amsterdam is doing thorough work on and around the Leidse Square. During the work, the Leidse Square is still easily accesible. Below you will find the best way to get to the Leidse Square.
The Leidseplein is easily accessible by public transport, especially by bus and tram. There are several tram lines you can take: 1, 2, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 17 and 19. By bus, the Leidseplein can also be reached easily. To do this, take bus lines 282, 283,284, 288 N47, N57 or N97.
Accessibility by car
The entertainment area is car free and in the area around the Leidseplein there is little or no parking on the streets. You can park in one of the surrounding parking garages: Byzantium, Museumplein or Marnixstraat.
Another possibility is to park at a P + R and then travel by public transport. An overview of all P + R locations in and around Amsterdam can be found here.
Taxis drive to the edge of the entertainment area and may no longer enter the Leidseplein to drop off passengers. There is a taxi stand on the Leidsebrug
The Leidseplein is also easily accessible by bike. The Leidsebrug has been renovated and is now reopend for cyclists.
One of the goals of this renovation is to make the area more accessible by bicycle. New underground bicycle parking facilities and special bicycle parking facilities will be constructed.
The situation for pedestrians is currently similar to cyclists.
The situation at Leidseplein is constantly changing. We try to keep you updated with the current ways to reach the Leidseplein. For an overview of the work we refer to the municipality of Amsterdam.
Are you planning on travelling with public transport? Then consult GVB.nl before your trip (we can not guarantee that their information is always correct).
